If you are ready to become a professional writer or editor? Then it’s time to enrol into the CUA50118 Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing. In this course you will develop a portfolio of non-fiction work, present your non-fiction pitch to publishers, learn a range of advanced writing and editing tasks for entry into the writing or editing industries, gain the necessary project management skills to see your work come to fruition, and discover what you need to be a freelance writer or editor. You will develop advanced skills in planning, coordinating and evaluating writing and editing your own work and the work of others.

Entry requirements

To enter this qualification, applicants must provide evidence of their technical skills in writing and editing and ability to:

  • Write short works (approximately 1,000 words) suitable for publication in any media
  • Edit other people’s written work for grammar, punctuation and appropriate use of language
  • Provide an objective critique of other people’s written work in a positive manner to assist re-writing.
